Alix's challenge for Voto

It started, really, when Alix was out in Skid Row, paying hommage to the big trash spirit that ruled the largest alley, the one she and Johnny used to sleep in before they moved in with Jamie, when a Rat spirit suddenly called her name. She glanced around, and when she found the poor little abused thing, she quickly found it some food before listening to it's story. It was sent to her by her mother, Jenny From-Beyond, with the message that Jenny was in trouble. She could've called on someone else, but had heard that Alix was rising up in the society, and since they hadn't seen each other for a year or so, she thought she'd call on her daughter.

Well, of course, she wasn't going to say no to her mother, and as she also needed to fulfill the challenge she had been given for Voto Rank (striking a benifical deal with a spirit), she decided to take two things in one. She went back to the apartment to inform Johnny, promising that if she'd get in trouble, she'd call on him. Not that she was planning on it, but it's always good to have backup, you know?

She followed the Rat spirit along the penumbra, until she was shown where her mother was, and she immediatly realised the problem. Jenny had been captured by Spider spirits, and had been woven into a web. She thought for a while on what could be done, and tried to locate helpful spirits.

Finally she settled for a Jaggling of Past, a skeletal Rat who has no understanding of the present, but is magnificent when it comes to remembering the past. She picked it because of it's memory, and partly because when it comes to alliances, sometimes it's more important that you have it rather than with whom. She offered to share with it part of her energy, and to listen to the stories that it wanted to share, aswell as sharing some of her stories. After they had talked for a while, it agreed to ally itself with her, and promised that if she had not talked to it the day after, it would search out Johnny Switchblade to get him to the web. She thought she'd be able to fight the Spider spirits, but they proved to be too many, and that's how they caught her aswell, binding her into the web, and she could only hope that Johnny would come to her help, and relish in the fact that if he did, she would have passed her challenge.
